I'll
leave it to you to work out the rhythm using
the same method you learnt in the last lesson.
If you have not already done so, take a look
at Funk Guitar : Lesson
1.
You
need to add in an E and and an F on the B
string as shown in the video. Repeat this
3 times and then change chords to Cm7 and
then Dm7. These start on the A string so the
fingering is slightly different to that used
for Gm7. Bar your first finger across the
3rd fret, but do not include the low E string.
Add in the 4th fret on the B string and the
5th fret on the D string. This is Cm7. Shift
the pattern up 2 frets to form Dm7.
The
most important part of this lick is being
able to apply the right ammount of pressure
to the fretboard with your left hand. You
need to be constantly lifting your fingers
away form the fretboard when you are not playing
a note and then pressing down again when you
are.
Remember
to keep your right hand moving at all times.
Play
around with this idea. Try different variations
on rhythms and chords to produce ideas of
your own.
