The
Rolling Stones: Brown Sugar
with Andy Webber
A
great song from a great band. This version of the
Stone's song uses triads. Triads, as the name suggests,
are three notes played together i.e. a three note
chord. These are usually played on the D, G and
B strings.

The
trick with this song is to practise only striking
the D, G and B strings. If you hit any of the others,
it won't sound nice. The way to do this is to make
sure your right hand position is low enough so that
the pick doesn't strike the top two strings, and
use your left hand to mute the high E string. This
is done by lightly resting the parts of your fingers
that aren't being used for the chord, on the E string.
Practise
the chord changes over and over until they are really
slick. There is a bit of a jump between the 12th
and 5th frets, so you need to be quick here.
