Van
Halen's cover of this Kinks song rocks! And one
of the best and hardest parts of it are the pinched
harmonics that Eddie seems to throw in everywhere!
If you haven't taken a look at the pinched
harmonics lesson, you should do so before
trying this.
For
this song, I prefer to use palm harmonics but
you can use either palm harmonics or pinched harmonics.

The
majority of the song is pretty simple and you
should have no trouble with it. The tricky bits
are the harmonic fills. These take a lot of practise
to get right as you have to move your right hand
quite quickly to get to the next harmonic. Remember
that imaginary fretboard above the pickups and
use it to help you find the right place to pinch
or rest your palm.
Your
right hand needs to be especially flexble when
playing the bends in the fills. Here you need
to remove your right hand quickly to avoid muting
the strings.
