Get
The Tab!
As
with everything we teach on this website, start
of really slowly and then gradually build up
to full speed. Work your way through the whole
riff so that you know every note off by heart
before trying to play it fast.
The
temptation with this riff is to use all downstrokes
here, but it is much easier in the long run
if you follow the video and use and alternate
picking technique. This will make it easier
to play withouth mistakes when you get it up
to full speed.
You
will also need to dampen the strings that are
not being played by using the pads of your fingers
on your left hand that aren't being used to
play notes. This cuts out any unwanted noise.
Make
sure your know why this is based around the
open D chord shape. It may be 12 frets higher
but the fingering is still the same. Note how
the root note changes throughout the riff.
