Whether
or not you listen to blues – even if you're
a die-hard metal-head – your guitar heroes
almost certainly play licks in an area we know
as "B.B.'s Box." We all owe a debt of
gratitude for the following licks to the King
of the Blues, B.B. King.
B.B.'s
Box is located on the top two (or three) strings
of the second pentatonic pattern, the pattern
which immediately follows the main pentatonic
pattern up the fretboard. Whether or not you know
all five of your pentatonic patterns yet, try
out these licks:
This
is an absolutely essential little riff heard in
thousands of famous guitar solos, as shown, or
in slight variations.

Now
